Following confirmation of Finnish duo Tuukka Mantyla and Anssi Salmela as the first men to be officially registered with the KHL's latest debutant team, HC Kunlun Red Star, the Beijing club has strengthened the ranks with one Russian, 25-year-old former Atlant, Lokomotiv and Yugra forward Oleg Yashin (pictured), and has released the names of the thirteen Chinese players whose arrival was announced by head coach Vladimir Yurzinov Jr. at Tuesday's press conference.
The standout name among the new recruits is that of 17-year-old prospect Rudi Ying, who attracted considerable media attention while playing for the Toronto Patriots in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Apart from attacker He Yin who had no recent club affiliation all the other players hail from China's northern city of Harbin:
- goaltender Xia Shengrong;
- defensemen Wen Chao, Guan Tianyi, Zhang Tianyi, Han Yuhang;
- forwards Bao Jiachang, Xia Tianxiang, Xiang Xudong, Ji Peng, Zhu Ziyang, Zhang Hao.
