Former Ottawa, New Jersey and Nashville defenseman Anton Volchenkov has signed a one-year contract with Admiral Vladivostok. The 34-year-old, a product of the CSKA school, amassed 133 points (19+114) in 696 outings during a 14-year career in the NHL, and also played in the KHL for Torpedo during the 2012-13 lockout.

In an otherwise quiet week on the transfer market, another international name has returned to the KHL, and as with Volchenkov, he has chosen a new employer the Far East. Finnish forward Teemu Ramstedt, who made 7 appearances for SKA Saint Petersburg in 2012-13, had recently been plying his trade with HIFK Helsinki, but the 28-year-old has now signed up for a year with Amur Khabarovsk
